Amid waiting for the return of Jon Jones to the octagon to defend the linear heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg.), Ben Askren has a controversial opinion about the reason for Dana White's stance on the scenario. In the veteran's view, the champion is controlling the president's actions because he knows something personal about his compatriot's life, which could eventually harm him.
“I almost feel like maybe Jon has some scam about Dana or something. Dana generally wouldn't tolerate this kind of behavior. He would say, 'that's what the UFC was founded on, whereas boxing wasn't, we want the best to fight. We want to see who is really the best. We don't want to waste time on mischief. We don't want to increase records, we don't do that; That's what boxing does. In the UFC, we put the best guys there, and we see who wins,'” said Askren in an appearance on the television channel Daniel Cormier No. YouTube.

As he continued speaking, Askren reinforced his questioning about Dana's stance regarding Tom aspinall.
“The fact that Dana is playing around and letting him and Stipe fight, Stipe is going to be almost four years (since his last fight). And you have this young interim champion, I mean he's a beast, he crushes people. So there's this obvious (chance) that Jon will beat Stipe and say, 'I'm done, I'm out,' and then we'll never see that. Dana almost always presses these issues with the best guys,” he concluded.

Scheduled to take place in November, Jones and Miocic will compete for the linear belt in New York (USA). Dana's expectation is that the American will win and unify titles with Aspinall next. However, despite the president's hopes, 'Bones' has not yet made any decision about what he will do after appearing against the Croatian.
