With his debut scheduled in the PFL against Renan Problem at an event on October 19th, Francis Ngannou you already know what to expect from the Brazilian: a unique opponent, but with characteristics similar to those of an old rival from his UFC days.
In an interview with 'Sky Sports Boxing', Francis Ngannou talked about the duel against Renan Problem and drew a parallel with Cyryl Gane, whom he defeated in a duel to unify the UFC's linear and interim belts in 2022. The Cameroonian, however, pointed out that the Brazilian could be even more difficult to beat than the Frenchman.
“Each fighter is unique in their own way and everyone has something. Basically, the fighters you've never faced are the toughest. In terms of style, I think it looks more like the style of Cyryl Gane, moving quickly and everything, or even better, because he has a great reach and knows how to use it with very fast hands. He is a unique opponent”, he analyzed.
In addition to the PFL debut, the fight against Renan Problem marks the first commitment of Francis Ngannou following the tragic loss of Kobe's son, who passed away at 15 months old in April. The Cameroonian admitted that he doesn't know what it will feel like to fight after such a tragedy, but he believes he never had such a great purpose.
“I have to find out by fighting. There's only one way to find out, but I think I have a different motivation with my son. I used to fight for many reasons, but I don't think I've ever had such a great purpose for fighting as I do now,” he concluded.
