This Saturday (17), Dricus Du Plessis e Israel adesanya will have the opportunity to resolve their differences in a hot belt dispute in the main fight of the UFC 305, in Perth, Australia. The rivalry between the South African and the Nigerian has as its main theme the debate between who is the greatest representative of the African continent in the organization.
In a recent interview with 'TMZ Sports', Adesanya pointed out supposed privileges in the speeches of Du Plessis, who claims to be the first 'real African champion' due to the fact that he lives and trains in South Africa, while the former champion adopted New Zealand as his home.

“I want him to take responsibility for his comments. Abdul Razak Alhassan He said before the last fight that he respects Dricus, but that he's a piece of shit because of what he said. He's a b***h. Dricus says he trained in Africa, that he does everything in Africa, while people like me and Razak were forced to leave our countries in search of better opportunities. He will never understand this because he lives behind the s*** gates of his privileged life in South Africa. There he can do it.”
“So someone like Francis Ngannou, who had to cross the desert to train. If you know Francis' story, you can't help but call him a real African champion just because he didn't train in Africa. Brother, are you kidding me? The guy was sent back to the desert six or seven times to die and he survived,” Adesanya countered.
In the opinion of Israel adesanya, the fact that he, Francis Ngannou e Kamaru Usman having won and maintained UFC belts for a long period was essential for Du Plessis to be able to also become champion.
“If Francis hadn't been champion, if I hadn't been champion, if Kamaru hadn't been champion, he would never have been champion. We paved the way for him and now he wants to try and take everything for himself. What kind of mentality is this? It's a colonizer mentality. He doesn't understand the mistakes in his path, but I'll show him. He will always be an African champion, but never one of the three kings”, he concluded.
