This Saturday (17), Dricus Du Plessis enters the octagon for the first time as UFC middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) and defends the title against the former champion Israel adesanya. No one better to analyze the confrontation than Robert whittaker, victim of both parties involved in the recent past.
In a recent edition of his podcast 'MMArcade', the Australian, who was defeated twice by Israel adesanya and one per Dricus Du Plessis, highlighted the balance present in the confrontation between the two rivals, but stated that he was more inclined towards the side of the current champion.

“If I had to make a bet, I would say that each person’s chance is 50%. I think there is a 50% chance that 'Izzy' will keep him behind his jabs, use the space, not let himself be trapped against the fence, defend takedowns and at the end of it all win the decision. Then I think there is a 50% chance that Dricus will do what he did with Sean Strickland. Push him into that space, knock him down, tire him out and turn everything into a fight. He doesn't get an interruption, but he takes the points and remains champion. I think it's 50/50, but if I had to bet, it would probably be Dricus by decision”, he analyzed.
To justify your choice, Robert whittaker surprised by pointing out an unusual feature that can make Dricus Du Plessis a difficult opponent for Israel adesanya and anyone who faces him.
“In a way, I was a victim of that, right? He's a weird guy (laughs). He fights very strangely. Even when I was in there with him, I thought it was weird. I felt he was slow and clumsy, so he punched me in the face (laughs). This could be one of his greatest weapons. Flying under the radar and making people think he's not good enough, then you get in there and he blows you away. And enough talking about these guys. Screw them”, he concluded.
