Adesanya's statement drew an amused reaction from Cormier. “Can you believe how good this guy is at this? I don't know how he's doing it. Man, he's hitting in general. How did he weigh 85 kilos?” asked the former champion.
Adesanya, in turn, took the opportunity to play with Poatan's physical strength in his new category, light heavyweight (up to 93kg), in which he is champion and has already beaten names like Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka e Jamahal hill.
“Wow, I fought him four times. I know, man. Every time I hit, I knew I had conditions before he hit me. I hope he retires. He's wild. When I said good luck, he said he had moved up a division. Now he is huge. Amen!” concluded the Nigerian.
The rivalry between Adesanya and Poatan is one of the fiercest in MMA. The two fighters faced each other four times, with two victories for the Brazilian in kickboxing and one in the UFC. The last fight between the two took place in April this year, when the Nigerian took revenge for the knockout he suffered and achieved victory.
