Present in Australia while resolving commitments with sponsors, Alex Poatán visited gym Tai tuivasa and decided to venture against a heavyweight athlete (up to 120,2kg.). Despite being lighter, the Brazilian, according to 'Bambam', ended up getting the better of him during a sparring session. In a sincere stance, the Australian revealed that he had been beaten by the champion.
“Yeah, it was more or less my first training session back and I got beat up. I think I left a few days later to go to Dubai and I thought, 'Fuck, I'd better go train.' His strength was, you know, I fight at heavyweight, so we might take a punch or two. It was more because I hadn't trained, I came in and got winded and got punched. But this is the sport we play, and it was all fun and games,” said Tuivasa during an interview on 'media day'.

Known for his knockout power, Tuivasa has eight victims in the UFC, only one of which was due to the judges' decision. At 31 years old, the fighter appeared smiling when recordings of his interactions with Poatan were released.
Escalated to the UFC 305, Tuivasa returns to the octagon this Saturday (17) looking to erase a negative phase in his career. Defeated in his last four appearances, the fighter appears as an underdog for a crucial clash against Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
