One of the biggest names in world MMA, Israel adesanya is causing a stir among fans with a radical physical transformation. The former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg.) surprised everyone by presenting a more muscular and bulky physique for his next appearance in the Octagon, in front of Dricus du Plessis, in the main fight of the UFC 305 next Saturday (17).
The former champion's physical change became evident when comparing his photos from September 2023, when he was defeated by Sean Strickland, with the latest images, released ahead of his next fight against Dricus du Plessis. The difference is notable, leading many to question the reasons behind this transformation.

Although there is no official confirmation, there is speculation that Israel is gaining muscle mass with the aim of challenging Alex Poatán in the light heavyweight division, in a possible UFC trilogy between the two rivals. The change of category, in theory, could require a more robust physique to deal with heavier and stronger opponents.
However, a fighter's physical transformation can bring both benefits and challenges. On the one hand, greater muscle mass can provide more strength and knockout power. On the other hand, the increase in weight can compromise the speed and agility that have always been the Nigerian's trademarks.
