After several speculations about who would be his next opponent, Alex Poatán, Dana White finally ended the suspense and surprised with an announcement made this Friday afternoon (16). Cast to star UFC 307 On October 5th, the Brazilian will face Khalill Rountree Jr in a fight that marks the defense of his light heavyweight title (up to 93kg). The confrontation will be held in Utah (USA).
In Dana's statement, the president praised the Brazilian's latest achievements and did not fail to mention the danger presented by Khalil in the Octagon, who is on the rise in his career with five consecutive victories, four of which by knockouts. The North American is currently eighth in the ranking and is coming off a great victory over Anthony Smith in his last appearance.

Bantamweight title at stake
In addition to Poatan x Rountree, the president announced the participation of Rachel Pennington defending the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg) for the first time after winning it. As a challenger, Julianna Pena was chosen and will face the North American in the penultimate fight of the event. Currently, the fighters are the protagonists of a scene of great rivalry.
