The only Brazilian representative on the preliminary card, Josiane Nunes didn't have a good night ufc vegas 96, an event held this Saturday (24). In a balanced fight against the Brazilian naturalized Portuguese Jacqueline Cavalcanti, the fighter from Paraná ended up defeated by the judges' split decision. The fight was valid for the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg).
With the result, Josiane feels the 'bitter taste' of her second defeat in two fights and boasts a record of ten triumphs and three setbacks.

The fight started off lively, with the two athletes studying each other and trying to find the distance. Jacqueline tried to keep the distance favorable using her wingspan, while Josiane got closer and tried combinations. Nunes had the best moment when she shortened and threw a strong punch, which made the Portuguese woman wobble. The end had an incredible knee from Cavalcanti.
The second round was extremely balanced. Josiane was going higher, but Jacqueline had the superiority, with the Portuguese having a 'hit and go' strategy, rotating frequently in the octagon. At half-time, the Brazilian's coach gave a huge scolding and stressed: 'What are we here for?'.
With the indecision on the cards, the two fighters gave their all from the start, with frank striking and with each following their own styles. In a new balance, Josiane tried to get closer and hit Jacqueline in the face, who was still in good shape in the long distance.

The fight between lightweights (up to 70,3kg.) Viacheslav Borshchev e James Llontop was one of the liveliest on the preliminary card. With the balance in his striking, the Russian was crowned the winner in the judges' split decision.
In his career, Borshchev now has a record of eight wins and four losses, as well as one draw. James Llontop, in turn, has 14 triumphs and four setbacks.

Middleweight protagonists (up to 83,9kg.) in the preliminary program, Zachary Reese and José Medina entertained the (few) present at UFC Apex. Superior in striking, the North American was superior, but saw the Bolivian endure several standing bombs and survive until the end. Reese won by unanimous decision from the judges.
Reese, with the result, reached eight wins and one loss in his career in professional MMA. Medina's record was updated to 11 positive results and four negative results.
