Khabib's cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov celebrated his unanimous decision victory over Alexandr Shabliy at Bellator San Diego, but the joy was overshadowed by the situation in Gaza. The Russian, who defended the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg) and is known for his activism in favor of Palestine, dedicated the victory to his late uncle, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, but expressed deep sadness about the humanitarian crisis in the region. The fight took place last Saturday (7).

“I am happy, but at the same time, I am a little bit sad about the situation in the world. It is very difficult, very bad. It is Gaza. I think the world needs to pay attention. Children are dying, people are dying; it is a genocide, and it needs to stop. That is my opinion. About the fight, I am a little bit happy, and that is it. I have dedicated myself a lot in the last three, four months. And this fight, I want to dedicate it to my uncle, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov,” Usman said.
