Brazilian is imposing, almost gets a knockout and passes the former challenger for the belt in the Sphere

Diego lopes shone at UFC 396, an event held this Saturday (14). The Brazilian imposed his style of play, made Brian ortega samba and won the fight on points on the main card of the night. The victory brought him closer to a chance to fight for the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg).

Diego lopes, 29 years old, should jump from 12th to third place in the ranking and is close to the belt. In his career, he has 26 positive results and six negative ones.

Ortega, in turn, is holding back a possible new chance for the gold in the category. With the setback, the American's record has been updated to 16 wins and four losses.

It wasn't long until Diego lopes impress the world. In the very first exchange of blows, the Brazilian shook the American with a brutal sequence, which made Ortega dance, but resist on the bottom and on the ground. The fight returned to the feet and, despite Brian's heavy bleeding, the two fighters were evenly matched.

Just like in the first round, Diego also managed to land a series of strikes in the exchange, this time well absorbed by Ortega. The Brazilian also invested in kicks to the left leg, which made the North American feel it and fall.

Willing to change the game, Ortega went for the takedown, but saw Diego defend himself. The fight continued in the exchanges, with the exchange of blows at close range and in the boxing drawing attention. Ronaldo Rodriguez and Ode Osbourne starred in a real war in the octagon of the Sphere, during the UFC 306. The fight, marked by alternating dominance between the athletes, provided fans with a show of technique and emotion.

Osbourne started the fight with an aggressive stance, landing precise blows and knocking down Rodríguez. The fighter pressed the Mexican against the fence and tried to finish the fight with a triangle choke, but his rival defended himself masterfully.

In the second round, the dynamics of the fight were reversed. Rodríguez, in turn, imposed his ground game to dominate his opponent, in addition to delivering heavy blows. Ronaldo came close to finishing the fight with a series of punches, but Osbourne resisted.

The third and final round was marked by intensity. The two athletes exchanged blows while standing, demonstrating a high level of technical skill. In the final moments, Rodríguez managed to impose his rhythm and emerge victorious.
