Sterling did not give details of the injury, but said he had undergone several procedures to try to improve his condition.

“Unfortunately, I have to break the news that I will not be competing in Salt Lake City at the UFC 307. In sparring I sustained an injury that did not require surgery, but I was advised by the UFC medical team that I would not be able to compete properly in this situation. I used stem cells. I took some time off. I tried to rehabilitate myself as much as I could with the UFC Performance Institute team and unfortunately this is out of my control now. I apologize to Movsar and his team,” said the fighter.

Lesion

According to the American website 'MMA Fighting', the former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg) has injured his elbow. Despite this, Sterling assured that he will be fit to fight before the end of this year.

PUBLICITY:

“Movsar, if you still want to punch that pretty face, I challenge you to postpone the fight and wait. Wait for daddy. I’ll be back soon. Possibly in December. If you decide not to wait, I respect that too because you’re trying to fight for the belt, just like me. The only way to do that is by going through each other.”

Upon hearing the news, Evloev ignored the former champion's challenge and expressed his desire to remain on the card.

PUBLICITY:

“I saw that Aljamain announced that he is out of the fight. I have been training for four months and would like to stay on the card and fight anyone. I am not sure if the UFC will be able to find someone to fight me, but I have worked hard for this,” said the fighter, also in a post on X.
