Alex Poatán is at a crucial moment in his career. On the eve of a fight against Khalil rountree No. UFC 307 next Saturday (5), the Brazilian finds himself faced with three distinct possibilities for his future in the octagon. The decision, however, seems to have become more complex than expected.

Poatan stated that his preference, at the moment, is to remain in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg) and defend his belt. The Brazilian's decision surprised many fans and analysts, who had already envisioned the fighter in a new category.
“I would choose to defend my belt, because it takes planning to cut weight and also planning to move up in weight, but it's perfect for this division,” said Poatan in a press interview at the 'media day'.
