The controversy José Aldo's defeat to Mario Bautista on the main card of UFC 307 was the target of criticismeven from President Dana White regarding the referee's behavior and the judges' scores. None of this, however, shook Bautista, who believes he did enough to come away with a positive result.
In a press conference given after the fight, mario bautista downplayed the criticism, explained the strategy and took a jab at José Aldo.

“The performance was what it was. I did what I had to do. I got cut in the second round, got hit with something really good and managed to take him to the fence. He (José Aldo) has good takedown defense, but he doesn't know how to get off the fence. That's not my fault. If it were me, I would be able to get off the fence. It doesn't matter what the public thinks, what anyone thinks, that's up to them. He couldn't get off the fence because I didn't let him get off the fence. That's something Merab did and now he's the champion. I think I did enough. He got some things going in the exchanges, but he lost a lot of time on the fence," said the American.
In addition to Dana White, another great character who came out in defense of José Aldo on social media was the former champion Conor McGregor, who claimed that the Brazilian had been 'robbed' in UFC 307. For the Irish, mario bautista reserved few words.
“Conor can kiss my p**** and fight when he should fight. Take the fight against Michael chandler and shut up,” he snapped.
