At 27 years of age, Jake Paul is a millionaire, has millions of followers and fans on social media and in recent years has broken boundaries and become a standout in boxing, including a fight scheduled against the legendary Mike Tyson on November 15th. Anyone who thinks that life has always been 'a bed of roses' for the North American, however, is mistaken.
In an in-depth and revealing interview given to 'The Hollywood Reporter', Jake Paul He opened up about the worst phase of his life and revealed that he had considered suicide, even making a plan to take his own life, before being saved by sport.

Famous since his teenage years, when he was a Disney actor, Jake reveals that his downfall began when his brother Logan Paul became embroiled in a major controversy after visiting the 'Suicide Forest' in Japan and recording a video for his YouTube channel, showing the bodies of suicide victims. Even though he was not involved in the production, Jake claims that the hatred did not distinguish between the brothers.
“I ended up in the middle of all the hate that was directed at my brother. Everyone was like, f*** the Pauls. F*** them both. It was really bad. The suicide forest thing basically ruined my career and my income. I lost probably $30 million in settlements. I had a $15 million settlement that got canceled because of a morality clause,” he said.
The financial losses and the hatred absorbed led Jake Paul abusing alcohol, drugs and parties and took the American to rock bottom.
“Basically life slapped me in the face and asked me who I was and what I had been up to for the past few years. This led me to drinking, doing drugs, partying in LA and everything that this world brings. I got sucked into it very quickly. So there I was, broke, hating myself, the whole world hating me. Drinking, depressed, not on good terms with either of my parents or Logan. I felt like I had no purpose in life. I had a plan. It was crazy. I was going to fill my Lamborghini with gas cans, get really drunk and drive the car off a cliff in Calabasas. But I wasn’t going to let them win. I decided I was going to fight. What every social media hater wants is to wake up and see that Jake Paul killed himself,” he explained.
In 2020, Jake Paul decided to venture into professional boxing. Four years later, the internet star has ten wins and only one loss and has already surpassed names such as Tyron woodley (twice), Nate diaz and even Anderson Silva. Today, the American has no doubt that the noble art was essential for him to stay alive.
“Boxing brings purpose, routine, health, community, all the things I needed. Since 2020, boxing has been my priority and everything else comes later. I never liked YouTube, I was only good at it,” he concluded.
Jake Paul returns to the ring on November 15, when he faces none other than boxing legend Mike Tyson. The highly anticipated duel will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in the United States and will be broadcast globally on Netflix.
