Brandon royval e Tatsuro Taira were the main protagonists of UFC Vegas 98. The fight, held last Saturday (12), not only decided the future of the flyweight category (up to 56,7 kg), but also gave the athletes the coveted 'Fight of the Night' prize, with each one pocketing US$50 thousand (around R$280 thousand, at the current exchange rate).
In addition to the main fight, two other fights were also awarded. Clayton Carpenter, Brazilian representative, submitted Lucas Rocha in the first round and took home the 'Performance of the Night' bonus. Ramazan Temirov knocked out CJ Vergara in the second round and was also awarded the prize.

The main event was a rollercoaster of emotions. The two fighters alternated in controlling the action, with Royval exploiting his reach and precision in his strikes, while Taira sought to impose his ground game and submissions.
With the victory, Brandon consolidated himself as one of the main challengers for the belt in the category, which currently belongs to Alexandre pantoja. Tatsuro, despite the defeat, showed great potential and should continue to rise in the flyweight hierarchy.
