Away from the octagon for more than three and a half years, since March 2021, Stipe Miocic is about to return to action in the highly anticipated title fight against the current champion Jon Jones, in the main fight of the UFC 309, which takes place on November 16th at Madison Square Garden in New York.
In a recent participation in the podcast 'BS w/ Jake Paul', the former heavyweight champion said he was very excited and prepared for his return after so long.

“I’m excited, honestly. It’s finally here. It was supposed to happen last year, unfortunately an injury prevented it, but here we are. Three weeks left. I’m ready, man. I’m excited. I just sit back, focus on the goal and just worry about the fight. That’s all I care about,” he said.
Regarding the strategy for dealing with Jon Jones, considered by many to be the best fighter of all time, Stipe Miocic is ready to not have to react to the rival's actions, but rather take control of the confrontation.
"Jon Jones does a lot of things well, but I have great coaches, great training partners and they prepare me for everything that can happen. I'm not going to wait to see what he's going to do, I'm going to do what I want”, he assured.
At 42 years of age and without fighting for more than three years, Stipe Miocic he avoided talking about an announcement of retirement after the belt dispute.
“I don’t know. After all the fights I think about retiring. We’ll see. Right now I’m only worried about the fight and I can worry about that after it’s over,” he concluded.
