The reputation of being a good football player does not guarantee that you are a good prophet. One of the greatest athletes of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo dared to make a prediction about a UFC fight, but he was unsuccessful in his 'prediction'. The Portuguese star had bet on the victory of Max Holloway about Ilia Topuria, but the Hawaiian ended up knocked out by his rival in a duel for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg) of the UFC 308 last Saturday (26th).

In a video released by PFL this Friday (1), CR7 appears alongside the coach of Francis Ngannou, Erik Nicksick, as he accompanied the French-Cameroonian in the fight in front of Renan Problem. He criticized Topuria's stance and questioned whether the Georgian had truly faced the best fighters in the category.

“Topuria talks too much. I think when he beat Volka, Volka wasn’t ready because of that kick. Topuria didn’t fight with the top guys. If he beats Max, I’ll respect it,” said the soccer star, referring to Topuria’s victory over Alexander Volkanovsky.

CR7's prediction, however, did not come true. Holloway, a former featherweight champion, was defeated by Topuria in the main fight of the night and suffered his first knockout of his career. With the victory, the Georgian solidified his position as the top name in the category today.
