Carlos Prates once again earned the nickname 'Nightmare'. At least the veteran Neil Magny will not have good dreams about the Brazilian any time soon. The 'knockout liner' added another one to his list of triumphs by putting the North American to sleep in the first round. The two faced each other this Saturday (9), in the main fight of a historic event: ufc vegas 100. If the night was about celebrating round numbers, it was up to Prates to end the main event with 10 seconds left in the round.
The São Paulo native was superior to his opponent throughout practically the entire short fight in the welterweight category (up to 77,1 kg). Despite Magny's good attempts to slow Carlos' momentum, the 'Haitian Sensation' was knocked to the ground by a right punch from the Brazilian. Prates only managed to maintain the lethality of his blows and led to his opponent's defeat in the final seconds of the only round of the duel. A straight left 'knocked out' the North American. (see video below).
Now Carlos Prates boasts a record of 21 wins and six losses, including an incredible four knockouts in the UFC that keep him undefeated in the organization. The athlete from Taubaté (SP) doesn't want to waste any time. Still in the octagon, the fighter said he already wants to fight again in February, at UFC 312, scheduled for the 9th, in Sydney, Australia. When asked who he would like to face, the Brazilian challenged Jack Della Maddalena, fourth place in the official ranking, and also Geoff neal, which occupies the tenth position.
