Last Saturday (9), in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 100, Carlos Prates lived up to the nickname 'Nightmare' and put Neil Magny to “sleep earlier”. With the victory, the Brazilian has accumulated four consecutive knockouts in four UFC fights. Despite his track record, some fans questioned whether the final blow really had enough power to knock out his rival, the fighter responded.

With just 10 seconds left in the first round, Neil Magny, already dazed by a previous attack, was knocked down by a straight left from Carlos Prates, which, at first glance, seemed to have grazed him. At the press conference after the fight, Prates clarified the knockout and suggested a 'dose' for those who doubted the power of the blow.

“I think people should come here and let me punch them in the head, and then they can talk. With the li jingliang it was the same thing in the first knockdown: I hit his head and then he fell. I think with the Neil Magny It was the same thing. I train a lot of boxing, I train boxing four times a week and, you know, bro, when I hit you with a punch, it doesn't matter where or how, you're going to get hurt,” Prates explained.

With his last two victories achieved by knockouts with blows to the temple, the fighter took the opportunity to explain the difference between a strong blow applied to the face and one aimed at that specific region of the head.

“(A blow) to the head is different from a blow to the face. On the face, you get a little dizzy, but on the head it’s like cutting off your legs: you fall, you don’t feel anything and then you get back up. So, I think people who are saying this should come here, let me hit them on the head, and then they can tell you,” concluded the ‘nightmare’.

Carlos Prates was signed by the UFC after attracting attention with a knockout on the 'Contender Series' and debuted in the organization in February 2024. Since then, he has accumulated four consecutive victories, all by knockout and accompanied by 'Performance of the Night' bonuses.
