Jon Jones gave an ultimatum: either face it Alex Poatán, or abandon the sport after facing Stipe Miocic No. UFC 309 next Saturday (16). In a chat with journalists during the 'media day' this Wednesday (13), the current heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg.) challenged the organization to hold the super fight.
“If the UFC doesn’t want the fight against Alex Pereira to happen, then it won’t happen and I’ll just move on with my life. Would you rather lose me or have another superfight?” asked the champion.

The idea of a fight between the two MMA giants gained traction after Jones commented on the matter before defending his title against Stipe Miocic No. UFC 309. The American revealed that he would be willing to give up his heavyweight belt to face the Brazilian for the BMF belt, which symbolizes the toughest fighter in the organization.
“Why not fight Alex Pereira? We’re the same age and the same weight class. From a business standpoint, it makes more sense. You can fight someone unknown who can be dangerous or you can fight someone good who can really impact your legacy,” Jones argued.
Professional since 2008, the North American has a record of 27 positive results, one negative result and one fight without result. He beat names like Alexander Gustafson, Daniel Cormier, Glover Teixeira, Lyoto Machida, Mauritius Shogun, Thiago Marreta e Vitor belfort, in addition to the conclusion on Cyryl Gane No. UFC 285 for the vacant heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg.).
