With two fights in the Ultimate, Maurício Ruffy, at 28 years old, is already emerging as one of the most exciting prospects in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg). Last Saturday (16), at UFC 309, Brazilian dominated James Llontop for three rounds and excited the crowd with his performance, despite not knocking out his opponent. After the victory, the 'Fighting Nerds' promise asked for a confrontation with Benoît Saint Denis still in the octagon, but it didn't stop there.
In a conversation with 'MMA Fighting', Ruffy stated that he is prepared to face greater challenges in the UFC and reinforced his search for opponents capable of elevating his position in the division. As an alternative to the Frenchman, the São Paulo native also extended his challenge to the veteran Bobby Green.

“I’m really excited for a fight with Saint Denis. Some people advise me to take it slow and stuff like that, but everything I’ve been through in my life and career gives me that right. Saint Denis is coming off two losses, so it’s an interesting fight. Another fight that would also be very interesting is against Bobby Green. I would love to face either of those two names. I hope the UFC sends me a good opponent and we fight soon. I'm taking a break now, but I'm already thinking about the next fights.”
With the victory in UFC 309, Maurício Ruffy achieved his second triumph in the Ultimate. The Brazilian prospect now has a record of 11 wins, 10 by knockout, and only one loss in his career.
