Alex Poatán used his social media to share an exciting journey of overcoming. In a post that went viral, the Brazilian, current UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg), compared two photos: one from four years ago, having lunch at his mother's humble home, and another in his current luxurious residence.
Accompanied by the song 'Viúva Sem Nada', by Daniel & Samuel, which talks about overcoming, Poatan celebrated.

“I’ve been having lunch at my parents’ house for four years. Thank you very much, my God,” Poatan wrote on his social media.
Poatan's post quickly went viral, with fans and admirers of the fighter celebrating his journey and leaving messages of support. Alex's story is marked by overcoming and determination. The fighter, who began practicing martial arts late, faced several challenges throughout his career, including problems with alcoholism.
The 2024 season was particularly challenging for Alex Poatán. The champion faced high-level opponents such as Jamahal hill, Jiri Prochazka e Khalil rountree, always emerging victorious by knockout. However, this sequence of fights required a great physical and mental effort from the athlete, who ended up fighting with a sore throat and injuries to his ribs and fingers.
