The question of who can dethrone Jon Jones at the top is a constant in the UFC world. Even after more than a decade of dominance, 'Bones' remains an unknown quantity for his opponents. However, names like Tom aspinall e Alex Poatán begin to emerge as possibilities to break this hegemony, and the former heavyweight challenger (up to 120,2 kg), Cyryl Gane, gave his opinion on the chances of both in the octagon against the current champion.

In an interview with 'The Ariel Helwani Show', Gane, who faced Jones in 2023 and was defeated by submission, assessed the two fighters' stance and their possibilities. Despite recognizing the adaptation and power of Jon Jones, Gane made a comparison between the styles of Aspinall and Poatan to indicate the Briton as the favorite in a future title fight.

“It’s a good question. Every time we see Jones, like in the case of the fight against Stipe Miocic, anything is possible. He is very dangerous, able to adapt to changes in opponents' styles. He can do anything he wants. I'll say Tom aspinall, because it's more complete. But when you have a guy like Alex Poatán, it can be very difficult too. Anything can be possible,” said the Frenchman.

At 37, Jon Jones is considered the 'GOAT' (Greatest in History) of MMA. 'Bones' has a record of 28 positive results, one negative and one 'no result' fight. He has already surpassed names like Stipe Miocic e Cyryl Gane in the heavyweights.
