Max Holloway 'stole' the attention of fans at the legendary UFC 300 by knocking out Justin Gaethje in the last second of the fight amidst a violent exchange of blows. The triumph guaranteed the Hawaiian the BMF title, a title fight against Ilia Topuria and now, the 'Knockout of the Year' award, won at the World MMA Awards last Thursday (5).
The former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) beat out Josh Emmett , Levy Carriel, and Vinícius Oliveira. The award is promoted by the American magazine 'Fighters Only' and covered the period between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024. In addition to the award for Holloway, the fight also earned the title of 'Fight of the Year'.
