Dominick Reyes' devastating knockout secures victory over Anthony Smith at UFC 310
From the beginning of the fight, Reyes showed that he was in good shape, with an offensive strategy that involved low and high kicks, as well as quick movements to avoid Smith's approach. However, Smith was not intimidated and tried to dominate the fight, although without success. At one point, a break was necessary due to a finger in Reyes' eye, which was attended to by doctors before returning to action.
With both fighters showing moments of brilliance, the duel remained evenly matched, with the 'Lionheart' trying to get closer to get takedowns, but always being neutralized by Reyes' defenses. The turning point came when Smith tried to apply a takedown after grabbing Reyes' leg, but was surprised by his opponent's firm defense. Reyes took advantage of the opening and, in a moment of intense aggression, delivered a series of elbows that left Smith speechless.
Referee Marc Goddard had no choice but to stop the fight, ruling it a technical knockout, which secured Reyes' second consecutive victory and led to an uncomfortable situation for Smith.

Visibly frustrated with the result, the veteran removed his gloves, a symbolic gesture of someone saying goodbye to the octagon. He, however, remained mysterious about his continued career.
“I don’t even care about the fight. I don’t know how many times I can do this here. I thought I could keep going, but I couldn’t fight. I need to think. I don’t know if this is the last time, maybe. It’s been a long journey, but I’ll probably stop today,” Smith said, making it clear that he was reflecting on the end of his career.
