In the rematch against Alexander Volkov, Cyryl Gane won, but did not convince. The victory by decision divided between the judges in the UFC 310, last Saturday (7), in Las Vegas, USA, raised questions from many fans, who thought the Russian deserved to leave with his arms raised. Not even the French former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) was enthusiastic about his performance and left the octagon without giving an interview. He later regretted it and returned, saying that he fractured one of his toes in the first round.
But it wasn't just one finger that was hit... but three! In a post on social media this Monday (9), Gane showed the extent of the injuries he suffered against Volkov. In addition to a broken finger, the Frenchman also injured two metatarsals in his foot.

“It wasn’t just my big toe, but both metatarsals that gave out on me early in the first round. Which basically means I had no foot, but we didn’t give up and used our brains to fight,” Gane wrote. (see below)

Despite beating Volkov for the second time, the French fighter believes he could have delivered more in the octagon.
“I was frustrated with my fight because of this [injury]. I was frustrated because I started my training in July for this fight, and you start your fight like this. Like the first second you go down,” he said after the fight.
This was Gane's second straight win since losing the belt to Jon Jones, in the UFC 285. The French fighter is 2nd in the category ranking, behind only Jones himself and the interim champion, Tom aspinall.
