Executioner of Diego lopes last year in UFC 288, Movsar Evloev did a new victim this last Saturday (7) at UFC 310 in Las Vegas, USA. The Russian defeated the former champion aljamain sterling on the preliminary card of the event by unanimous decision of the judges. Now, the 30-year-old fighter has 19 victories and remains undefeated in the organization.
The victory in UFC 310 did Movsar Evloev certainly enter the list of potential title challengers in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg). Ranked 5th, the Russian fighter believes he deserves a shot at the gold that currently belongs to Ilia Topuria, but explained that he doesn't plan to sit around and wait for long.

“Finally he [Sterling] is on my list, so let’s take a step forward. I think I deserve a title shot. If not, give me another fight. I’m not going to wait another year to fight again. Just two months, maybe, and I’ll be ready for a fight,” Evloev said.
Ahead of Evloev, however, is probably Alexander Volkanovsky (1st in the ranking), rehearsing a rematch with Topuria, in addition to Diego lopes (3rd in the ranking). Evloev, however, questioned whether the Brazilian-born Mexican really wants this fight and provoked him. According to the Russian, he offered to fight Lopes after defeating Sterling, but he would have refused.
“I don’t know about Volkanovski, because he’s a big legend, maybe he deserves to fight for the title again. To try [to claim] his title. I’m not sure about that. Diego lopes“This kid is good, he did a great job in the last fights, especially after losing to me. But I don’t think he’s looking for a fight against Ilia or me, or fighters like us. He needs something easier. That’s why he’s not running back,” Evloev teased.
Just like Evloev, Ilia Topuria remains undefeated in the UFC, with 16 wins under his belt. The Russian fighter preached respect for the featherweight champion, but says he is confident of taking the gold from the Georgian-Spanish fighter.
“I think he’s a great fighter. I think everybody thinks so. He just took down some legends. He’s strong, and his wrestling is good, his striking is incredible. But like I said, I’m the only one right now in the featherweight division that can stop him. So I have enough power and will to stop this guy. And nothing but respect for this guy. All I need from him is his title,” he concluded.
