After another defeat to Charles of the Bronx, Michael chandler does not hide the physical difficulties he faced during the fight, but he is confident about his future in the UFC. Despite significant injuries, the 38-year-old veteran assured that he is not thinking about retirement yet. For him, the wear and tear of his career is far from being a reason to stop and he believes he has 'gas in the machine' to continue competing.

During his fight against Do Bronx, Chandler suffered a series of injuries, including a knee injury and a dislocated thumb. The fighter also reported having difficulty maintaining his stance during the fight, which resulted in several falls in the octagon.

“I still have a lot of gas in the machine, even with some injuries. I hit my knee, dislocated my thumb, but none of that stops me from continuing. What really worried me was the issue of my footwork, which wasn’t firm at the beginning of the fight. I fell a few times because I was forcing the weight on my left foot, and I thought it was the Octagon mat, but then I realized it was my body trying to adapt,” explained the former Bellator champion.

Chandler, who did not suffer any significant head injuries, one of the biggest fears for any fighter, reassured his fans by saying he was recovering well from his minor injuries.

“There was no major damage to my head, so the recovery is going smoothly. I am focused on recovering fully. I am not thinking about retirement. I still feel I have a lot to offer to MMA. I believe I can continue fighting for years to come, maybe even into my 40s,” he declared optimistically.

At 38 years old, Chandler has had a career full of ups and downs, but with important victories over big names such as Ben henderson, Eddie Alvarez and Dan Hooker. He is one of the main names in the UFC lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), in addition to having made history in Bellator.
