On the preliminary card of UFC Tampa, Felipe Lima showed why he is considered one of the biggest names in the new generation of Brazilian fighters. The former training partner of Khamzat Shimaev put pressure on, suffered a knockdown, almost finished and won Miles Johns in a duel that got the crowd going.

With the result, Felipe added another victory to his streak of 14 consecutive triumphs in his career, being the second in the UFC. Miles, in turn, at 30 years old, had his streak of three victories interrupted.
Fight fought until the last second
The Brazilian started the fight landing the best blows. In the first minute, Felipe stopped a kick from the American, knocked his opponent off balance and attempted a flying knee that almost resulted in a knockout.
In the second round, Miles Johns came up with the strategy of closing the distance and landing strong crosses, but Felipe Lima used his movement to avoid the attacks. Halfway through the round, the American tried to get closer again, but was surprised by a double-leg from Lima, which took him to the ground. After a few changes of position on the ground, the athletes returned to fighting standing up. In the final moments of the round, Miles connected a powerful cross that almost knocked Felipe down.
In the last round, the Brazilian was showing signs of fatigue, while Johns increased the pace, trying to finish the fight with hard blows. In one close call, Felipe dodged a punch, took advantage of the opening and managed to get his opponent's back, knocking him down. He almost finished with a rear naked choke, but the two continued to exchange positions on the ground until the bell sounded to end the fight.
The victory of Felipe Lima was decreed by unanimous decision of the judges (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
