Prepare your hearts! A meeting of giants is about to take place in 2025. During a post-event interview with UFC Tampa, the organization's last event of the year that took place this Saturday (14), in the USA, Dana White stated that the heavyweight champion, (up to 120,2kg.) Jon Jones, and the interim champion of the category, Tom aspinall, should finally measure forces next year, in what should be one of the biggest UFC events, according to the organization's president.
During the press conference, which was accompanied on site by the team of SUPER FIGHTS, Dana White offered an absolute guarantee that Jones and Aspinall will meet in the Octagon in 2015.

“Yeah, I would say 100 percent [guaranteed]. 100 percent [is a priority]. I think it’s probably the biggest fight in heavyweight history, and it’s a huge fight in the history of the company as well. It’s a big fight,” the UFC boss said.
The statement sounded bold, especially since Dana doesn't normally display this level of confidence unless she already has a contract in hand. Even before Jones knocks out Stipe Miocic in the UFC 309, last November, the organization's president expected the winner of that fight to face Aspinall in a title unification bout. But after the victory, 'Bones' downplayed his interest in fighting Aspinall and instead suggested a matchup against the UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Poatán.
White immediately dismissed these plans and remained steadfast in his belief that Jones would eventually accept the fight against Aspinall, despite him being against the idea. Bones' biggest criticism of the fight comes down to the Brit's lack of experience in big fights, where a win would not add much to his resume. While Aspinall boasts an impressive record of eight wins and one loss in the UFC, he has only competed in two interim title fights. Despite this, he is widely regarded as the best heavyweight in the sport, which includes an impressive finish rate, with only one fight going past the first round in his eight victories in the organization.
“It’s weird. Let me tell you what’s weird about it. So usually these guys say this shit behind the scenes and not publicly. Jon says this shit publicly but not behind the scenes. Jon is a very unique individual to deal with. From day one, I was confident that Jon Jones would do this fight. I mean, even before the fight, I said that if he won, there was no way Jon wouldn't do this fight. Jon Jones is not afraid to fight anyone and that is a fact”, concluded Dana.
