Last Saturday night (14) did not go as planned for the MMA talkative duo. Colby Covington 's brutal defeat to Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa was the first fight with Chael Sonnen serving as 'Chaos's' main coach , who was beaten in three rounds before the medical stoppage due to a cut suffered on his eyebrow.
Colby Covington released a behind-the-scenes conversation with Chael Sonnen on his YouTube channel after the fight with Buckley. The 'American Gangster' tries to console the former interim welterweight champion (up to 77kg), saying that he did well even though he accepted the fight at the last minute, replacing Ian Machado Garry , who was pulled to face Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310.

“My God, it was a fight. My God, Colby, man. Not bad [for any training camp]. Your kicks were perfect tonight, he hit you with his best punches. Those were hard punches, it was hard for everyone to see because you just took them. Even we in the corner were saying, 'Oh, that must hurt, oh, I don't think it hurt, he's still going forward.' Your takedowns, you even got your head caught in the middle, but you were struggling to get out and managed to lock in the hands. It was great, everything was going really well. The tide was turning, that doesn't count. I don't accept that, no way, man. It was a great fight and you fought really hard,” Sonnen stated. (see video below)
The fight marked the return of 'Chaos', who hadn't entered the UFC octagon since his unanimous decision loss to Leon Edwards last December. It was Covington's third defeat in his last four appearances in the octagon.
