Leon edwards has been facing his first challenge since losing the welterweight belt (up to 77,1 kg) to Belal Muhammad | in July last year. The former champion faces the Australian promise Jack Della Maddalena in the main fight of UFC London, scheduled for March 22. The information was initially released by the channel 'Australian Benny P MMA'.

Champion of the category between 2022 and 2024, with two defenses, Leon edwards was dethroned by Belal Muhammad |, in a unanimous decision by the judges, at UFC 304, in July of last year, in Manchester, England. The defeat was 'Rocky's' first since December 2015.

On the other side, Jack Della Maddalena is considered one of the top prospects in the division. Ranked fourth in the rankings, the Australian is undefeated in the UFC, with seven wins in seven fights, the last of which was against the Brazilian Gilbert Durinho, at UFC 299, in March last year.

Scheduled for March 22nd at the O2 Arena, the UFC London already has ten confirmed fights. So far, only two Brazilians have been scheduled for the card: Lip Detona faces the undefeated Lone'er Kavanagh, in the flyweight (up to 56,7 kg), while istela nunes measures forces against the people Molly McCann, in straw weight (up to 52,1 kg).
