Former light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg), Jan Blachowicz is in the final stretch of preparation to return to the octagon after about a year and a half of inactivity, but has not yet given up on the idea of a rematch against Alex Poatán, against whom he ended up losing in a split decision by the judges, in the near future.
In a recent interview with 'MMA Fighting', the Polish fighter, who faces Carlos Ulberg in the next edition of UFC London, in March, reiterated that he believes he has won Alex Poatán in the duel held in July 2023, which marked the Brazilian's debut in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg).

“I want to remind people how tough I am. People forget that I beat Alex Pereira. He won because the referee helped him, in my opinion. I have a draw with Ankalaev. These are the most dangerous fighters in the division. I feel like people have forgotten about me. I’m not surprised because I stopped for a year and a half, I’m not fighting, but now I’m going to remind everyone in the world about the legendary Polish power,” he said.
The fact that he believes he has beaten Poatan has not diminished Blachowicz's respect for the Brazilian's recent achievements, as he became champion in the category and has defended his belt three times in record time. Still, the Pole claims he is the most deserving of a rematch.
“Of course I have a lot of respect for him and everything he’s done, but that doesn’t change anything. I want a rematch against him after this fight. I’m focused on this fight, but if I win, and I believe I will, the next one will be against him. I deserve the rematch more than anyone in the division,” he concluded.
