Owner of the most brutal knockout of the first Ultimate event of the year, Cesar Almeida will not be dazzled by the 'hype' generated by the victory over Abdul Razak Alhassan No. UFC Las Vegas 101, held last Saturday (11). Cesinha himself guarantees this, in an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS.
Quite pleased with the result, Cesar Almeida downplayed the fact that he was riding the 'crest of a wave' due to the viral knockout and promised to keep his feet on the ground, knowing that things change quickly in the world of MMA and an eventual defeat could have the opposite effect.

“For me, it doesn’t change much. I’m very down to earth. If I lose, they’ll criticize me, so I just keep working. People criticized me in that fight with Potieria, that I didn’t advance any further, that I could have knocked him out, this or that, but here in the UFC there’s constant pressure. When I won the first fight, I was hyped, when I lost the second, I was ‘limping’, if I lose another one I’ll be on the chopping block to be fired. So I’m down to earth. Of course it’s nice to take advantage of the people who are enjoying it and commenting. I’m not saying I don’t like it, but it doesn’t make me very excited, because it could end in the next fight,” explained Cesinha.
As for the next step, the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) from São Paulo, who, still on the octagon of UFC Las Vegas 101, asked for a place in the UFC Brasilia, an event that has not yet been confirmed but is scheduled to take place in May, rejected the idea of facing a Brazilian in his next fight. In addition, Cesinha went back on his word and did not promise to be present at the card, stating that he may need more time to recover his body.
“For me, Brazil versus Brazilian doesn’t make sense. I don’t want that. I don’t want to face these Brazilians now. If it’s in the future, for a top 5, top 10, that’s another story, but I don’t want to face a Brazilian before. If the organization says so, what can I do? But that’s not my intention. I don’t even know if I’ll fight in May either, I’ll think about it a little more. I’ve had four fights in ten months, I need to take a breather, get my body back on track. I asked for it out of emotion, but it’s going to be tough again. I’m going to sit down with my managers and trainers, talk it out and figure out a better date,” he said. Cesar Almeida.
