Arman Tsarukyan speaks for the first time after being replaced by Moicano at UFC 311

The fighter regrets the back injury that prevented him from competing for the lightweight belt

Arman Tsarukyan saw the chance to become lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) slip through your fingers. The Romanian suffered a back injury and had to be replaced by Renato Moicano in the main fight of UFC 311, scheduled for next Saturday (18), against Islam makhachev. Despite missing the opportunity to buckle the belt, he expressed enthusiasm in seeking a future occasion.

On his Instagram page, Tsarukyan expressed regret at having to withdraw from the fight due to a back injury and said it was the hardest decision of his career. He thanked the UFC for their understanding and the fans for their support.

“I regret to inform everyone that the news that I had to withdraw from the UFC 311 “I am truly committed to retiring due to a back injury. This was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my fighting career. I would like to thank the UFC for their understanding and I look forward to competing for my first UFC Championship in the future. I thank everyone for their support,” Tsarukyan wrote.

With the new main fight consisting of Islam makhachev e Renato Moicano, UFC 311 takes place this Saturday (18), in Inglewood, in the United States, and continues with two confirmed belt disputes. In the co-main fight, Merab Dvalishvili defends the bantamweight title (up to 61,2 kg) against Umar Nurmagomedov.
