The pressure of being a champion is something that few know how to deal with, but Alex Poatán seems to be an exception to the rule. During his participation in the UFC 311, last Saturday (18), the Brazilian made a point of making it clear that his next belt defense, against Magomed Ankalayev, was a personal request from him. The current champion revealed how he took the initiative to choose the opponent for his fourth defense of the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg), scheduled for UFC 313, on March 8, in Las Vegas (USA).
In a relaxed chat, the champion did not hide the reason for his choice. He also made a point of commenting on Ankalaev's behavior, who recently stated that he was 'just an employee' of the UFC and was willing to fight whenever the organization wanted.

“I didn’t say I wanted a break, but I started training again, I started feeling good, I saw the evolution of my work. Then I called my managers and said: ‘I want to fight in March, I want to face Ankalaev’. I said what I wanted”, declared the fighter in an interview with 'ESPN'.
The Brazilian's request is no coincidence. With a record of 11 wins and one draw since his UFC debut, Ankalaev represents a major challenge for Poatan, who is looking to maintain his dominance in the light heavyweight division.
O UFC 313 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and a large number of Brazilian fighters have already been confirmed for the card. In addition to Poatan vs. Ankalaev, 11 other Brazilian athletes will also be at the event, making the night even more special for fans in the country.
