O UFC 313, scheduled for March 8, promises to be one of the biggest events of the season, with the Alex Poatán e Magomed Ankalayev for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg). However, in addition to the rivalry between the two fighters, a new ingredient appeared in the dispute: the opinion of Jiri Prochazka, former division champion, who revealed a blunt analysis of the Russian's strategy.

Prochazka, who has already faced Poatan twice, losing both times by knockout in the second round, was emphatic when talking about Ankalaev's stance. The Czech warned about the fact that the Russian had stated in previous interviews that he would prefer to keep the fight standing, without taking the Brazilian to the ground. According to Jiri, Ankalaev must follow a line of conduct to keep his word.

“Ankalaev said he will fight Alex standing up. If he does what he said, I think Poatan will win. The man means what he says,” Prochazka said in a post-victory interview on UFC 311.

Ankalaev has been clear in his previous statements about the fight. In several interviews, he has reinforced his intention to keep the fight standing and believes he has the advantage over the Brazilian.
