Michael Page is going through a decisive moment in his career. In recent victory against Shara Magomedov No. UFC Saudi Arabia, the Englishman moved up to middleweight (up to 83,9kg) and seems to be just beginning to explore the limits of his versatility inside the octagon. During an interview with “The Ariel Helwani Show”, the athlete revealed that he is considering the possibility of moving back to light heavyweight (up to 93kg), but highlights one fight that he will avoid at all costs: Alex Poatán.

With unshakable confidence, 'MVP' showed no fear in admitting that he can easily adapt to higher categories, especially when the focus is striking. However, a fight against the current champion of the division is out of the question.

“That guy is very dangerous, man. I’m going to stay away from him. (…), but I can definitely see myself fighting in the top division again. For me, when I’m just fighting striking, I can fight at heavyweight. It doesn’t matter to me. Because they’re strikers. As much as these guys have power, they’re going to land something effective. I know their quality, what they can deliver, but I can do it at any time. If the fight is exciting enough and the fit makes sense, 100% I can fight,” said MVP.

Despite his confidence, Page seems a little unenthusiastic about remaining at middleweight. In an interview after his victory, while still in the octagon, the fighter stated that he had trouble adapting to his weight and competing in the division, and also suggested that he would be back at 77kg in the next round.
