As usual, the unconventional personality of Sean Strickland displeased people, this time in Australia. After making several statements against the country's weapons policies and even against the Australian population at the pre-UFC 312, last Wednesday (5), The Daily Telegraph, one of the main newspapers in Sydney, publicly showed its disapproval of the statements made by the former Ultimate middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) and his fans for Dricus du Plessis.

Strickland criticized Australia
Among the American's controversial statements, criticism of Australia's way of dealing with freedom of expression in the country stands out.
“I come to this damn country and talk about free speech, guns and taxes. And you have these damn communists in the media trying to take me down. Why? Because you want to control the media and you don’t like free speech,” the fighter said.
“You have a lot of cameras here – red light cameras, cell phone cameras, seatbelt cameras, speed cameras. It’s a real communist place here… But it’s a very beautiful country, I would consider the Australians to be English white trash. Some of the Irish too, you know, they sent a lot of them over here. As an American white trash, I feel like I have a lot in common with you, f***ing,” he concluded.
