As he prepares for his first title fight, bride Tatiana Suarez No. UFC 312, Patchy mix has not stopped expressing his dissatisfaction with the treatment he has received from the PFL. Despite being the current Bellator bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg), the American has not shown up since May 2024, and like several other athletes, he has been speaking publicly about his desire to leave the organization.

“Why am I not fighting? Why am I sitting on the sidelines, basically wasting my prime? I have to express this because I’m in the prime of my career, and not just because I’m in the prime of my career, but because I’m the best bantamweight in the world. (My record is) 20-1 and 15 stoppages, and I’m in the cold. I’ve had one fight in the last 14 months. I’ve been doing really well in the sport, my whole career. This is the longest layoff of my career,” Mix told MMA Junkie Radio.

Mix was scheduled to defend his title in November 2024 against the Brazilian Leandro Higo, however, for unknown reasons, the PFL chose to cancel the entire event. Since then, no announcement has been made regarding a new date.
“I had fights canceled without being compensated. I spent thousands and thousands of dollars to bring my corners and coaches to these fights. First in November in Paris and then in January in Dubai,” Mix concluded.
At 31, Patchy mix was one of Bellator's top talents. He has major wins against names of the caliber of Sergio Pettis, Kyoji Horiguchi and Magomed Magomedov. So far, the company has not commented on a contract release.
