“I’m fine. Losing sucks, but we all lose in life. I talk to so many people who lose their job, their girlfriend breaks up with them, and they end up in this hole. I love misery. I love suffering, because when you’re miserable, when you’re in pain and suffering – the moment it passes, and it will pass, there will be a new day and a better day. Life is good,” Strickland said.

Strickland acknowledges Du Plessis' talent and praises his performance in the rematch

As for his rival, Strickland gave in and acknowledged Du Plessis's skills. The American praised the South African for his performance and mentioned that the champion broke his nose in several places. However, despite the severity of the injury, he highlighted that there is still a positive side.

PUBLICITY:

“Dricus, hats off. What a fight. Broke my nose in like six places. On the bright side, my nose is so broken it’s easy to reset. It was a new experience,” concluded the former champion.

Strickland and Du Plessis first faced each other in January 2024, when the South African won by a disputed split decision. Now, in the rematch, the champion left no doubt and overcame the American by unanimous decision.
