At the press conference following his victory in the UFC 312, Du Plessis commented on the current situation of the UFC middleweight division. For the champion, Caio Borralho must face Nassourdine Imavov to determine the next title challenger, as he defends the belt against the first in line, Khamzat Shimaev.
“You have Caio and you have Imavov. What a performance from Imavov (against Adesanya), I think he makes the fight between Caio and Imavov. I think this is the next fight to decide the title challenger, after I fight Khamzat,” said Du Plessis.
