Sean Strickland's defeat to Dricus Du Plessis No. UFC 312, held on Saturday, exposed an interesting side of the former champion. In the fourth round, the South African landed a right cross that instantly broke the challenger's nose. Although blood was gushing from his mouth and chest, the fighter continued his work as if nothing had happened, which impressed Dana White.
In a press conference after the UFC 312, White praised the stance of Sean Strickland during the fight and highlighted the former champion's resistance and professionalism.

“I’ve never seen a guy who’s so solid and professional. He breaks his nose, puts it back together and keeps fighting. He takes some big hits. When he takes big hits, he doesn’t start shaking his head and doing the silly things that people do. You can go to any combat sport and you’ve seen that. Nobody is more professional in a fight than this guy. It’s fascinating,” said Dana White.
Strickland and Du Plessis first faced each other in January 2024, when the South African won by a disputed split decision. Now, in the rematch, the champion left no doubt and overcame the American by unanimous decision.
