Amidst the tropical climate of Sydney, two Brazilian MMA icons transformed the UFC 312 on a stage of unity. Alex Poatán e Charles of the Bronx not only were they present at the Australian event, but they also starred in moments that went beyond the fights — including a photo that caught the attention of social media.
The duo, who share the status of Brazil's main representatives in the Ultimate, were seen in tune both behind the scenes and in relaxed scenes. In a viral video, the São Paulo natives danced alongside the Australian Tai tuivasa aboard a yacht, in a choreography that brought laughter.

The most symbolic scene, however, occurred outside the octagon. In an image that circulated on social media, the two posed side by side, with wide smiles and the traditional greeting “Chama!” — Poatan’s trademark.
Despite the light moment, the mission was serious: Poatan accompanied Sean Strickland in the corner of the rematch for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg), while Do Bronx guided Gabriel Mosquitinho, which ended Jack Jenkins with a rear naked choke after precise instructions from the former lightweight champion (up to 93kg).
While Poatan consolidates his reign in the light heavyweight division — a category where he is champion and has defended his title three times —, Do Bronx is trying to find his way back to the top of the lightweight division, where he led for two years. Despite their different paths, both have stories of overcoming obstacles: the first, a former middleweight champion, moved up a category and became a global phenomenon; the second, a 14-year UFC veteran, remains popular with fans.
The event also served as a stage for possible future challenges. After defeating Strickland, Dricus Du Plessis challenged Alex to a 'super fight' in the light heavyweight division, a proposal accepted by the Brazilian on the condition that the fight takes place in his current category. Meanwhile, Charles remains in Tsarukyan's sights, who has promised to defeat him to fight for the belt against Islam makhachev.
