Greatest fighter in UFC history, Amanda nunes has been missed by fans since she announced her retirement in mid-2023. Although the 'Lioness' has recently been encouraging followers by 'flirting' with a possible return, Din Thomas, the fighter's former coach, is not so convinced about an eventual return.
In a recent interview with journalist Ariel Helwani, Thomas said he did not believe in a return of Amanda nunes to the UFC. The coach, however, pointed out that the only factor that can make the 'Lioness' change her mind is the constant provocations of Kayla harrison, likely next challenger to the current bantamweight champion's belt (up to 61,2 kg) Julianna Pena.

“At this point? No, I think her window to come back has passed. I can’t see it happening, but come on! If Kayla starts bragging, starts talking, I think she might come back,” Thomas opined.
Din Thomas said he recently received a call from Amanda interested in returning to training. The coach, however, highlighted the difficulty of leaving behind the 'doldrums' of family life and returning to the arduous routine of an athlete.
“A few months ago, Amanda called me and said she wanted to start training again. It takes a lot of hunger and motivation to be at that level of consistency. It’s very easy to say no when you’re not training. To sit on the couch and say you’re going back. Weeks of training, diets, it’s hard to go from being home with your kids to going to work,” he concluded.
