Conor McGregor, the manager, not the fighter, claims to have signed 'the greatest girl band since the Spice Girls', a pop culture icon of the 1990s. Greenback Records, the label founded by the Irishman in partnership with music industry business partners Richard Buck and Julian O'Brien, signed the four-piece band 'Sweet Love'.

Speaking alongside the band in an Instagram video, McGregor said he was very excited about the new deal.
“It’s an incredible day at Green Back Records, I’m super proud as we’ve decided to announce the signing of the biggest girl band since the Spice Girls, presenting Sweet Love. Here we have the beautiful Venice, we have the beautiful Honey, the beautiful Yasmine and the beautiful Maya! We have new music coming soon, very soon, stay tuned and follow us @sweetlove. Let’s go Sweet Love, let’s go Green Back Records. Sweet Love to the top!”(see video below)
The young British band's manager is the former member of East 17, Blair Dreelan, who told the 'Daily Star' about the partnership with McGregor.
“He has been a great support so far and despite being a very busy man, he is in the know and wants to know how he can help,” he said.
Controversies over sexual abuse
One discrepant point about McGregor signing with a 'Girls Band' is the fact that the fighter lost a process in the civil court in Ireland for sexual abuse. The case relates to an accusation from December 2018, in which the fighter allegedly raped Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel. 'The Notorious' was ordered to pay €250,000 (more than R$1,5 million at the current exchange rate) in compensation to Hand.
As if that wasn't enough, another case involving the fighter emerged in the US. A lawsuit was filed in the Southern District Court of Florida over an incident that allegedly occurred after a Miami Heat basketball game in 2023. The alleged victim, a 49-year-old woman, claimed that she was abused by McGregor in the bathroom during the game. An investigation into the case was launched at the time, but no criminal charges were filed.
It remains to be seen whether the fact that McGregor signs with sweet love, is a move to improve the Irish fighter's image among women.
