Islam makhachev smiled for the cameras when asked about his next challenge. In an interview with 'MatchTV', the UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) revealed that there is an offer under negotiation, but preferred to keep the mystery regarding his future within Dana White's organization.

“I can’t announce anything yet, but there is a proposal that we need to discuss with the team, as there are options,” Makhachev said.

The champion's statement gained even more weight after UFC president Dana White suggested that something 'special' is being prepared for Islam's next fight.

With a record of 23 wins and just one loss, Makhachev has already surpassed names like Charles of the Bronx, Alexander Volkanovsky and most recently Renato Moicano. He established himself as the fighter with the greatest belt defense in the history of the lightweight division.
