Charles of the Bronx publicly questioned the possibility of Conor McGregor return to the sport. In an interview with 'Oddspedia', the Brazilian stated that fans should 'forget' about the Irishman's return, citing consecutive postponements and priorities outside the octagon. The statement comes amid a series of lawsuits against McGregor, including convictions for sexual assault, which have impacted his career and business partnerships.

“To be honest, I don’t know why people still talk about Conor McGregor. He did everything he wanted in the sport and now chooses to live his life the way he does. We look forward to his return, and Michael chandler “I’ve been waiting for two years, but he hasn’t shown up. I think fans should forget about McGregor’s return. He’s not going to fight again,” Charles said.

McGregor, who has not stepped into the Octagon since July 2021, has had at least five return dates announced between 2022 and 2025, all of which have been canceled. UFC president Dana White's latest projection suggested a possible return only in late 2025 — with no opponent or event confirmed.

The obstacles to McGregor's return go beyond his injuries. The Irishman faces a series of legal cases, including a civil judgment in Ireland in 2024, where he was ordered to pay €250 for sexually assaulting model Nikita Hand in 2018. In the US, a similar lawsuit, related to an incident at an NBA game in 2023, remains open in Florida.

Although McGregor denies the allegations and is preparing legal appeals, the repercussions have already affected his commercial partnerships: Proper Twelve, the whiskey brand he co-founded, has removed him from promotional duties, and his character has been removed from a video game.
