Defeated by Moicano, athlete explains why he gave up on knocking out the Brazilian at UFC 300

Jalin Turner recalls the barrage of criticism he received for being ruthless with a previous rival; fighter retired in his last appearance

Protagonist of an unusual moment in UFC 300, jalin turner paid dearly for trusting in the referee's eventual interruption after punching and knocking him down Renato Moicano on the ground. “I have had many conflicts since the knockout over (Bobby Green). The community was asking why I didn't stop (hitting) I'm a nice guy, so it wasn't my intention to keep hurting the guy, but that's what you have to do in the sport. So, as it happened in UFC 300, I had a little moment of clarity where I didn't want to keep hurting (Renato Moicano). I didn't want to keep hitting him,” Turner explained.

Finally, the fighter highlighted his plan to redeem himself with the fans in the midst of one of the biggest events ever offered by the UFC.

“A lot of people said I shouldn’t have done this and that, walking away after knocking him down. UFC 300 It was a big show, just like Conor (McGregor) vs Khabib (Nurmagomedov) so I wanted a moment of redemption,” he concluded.

At 29 years old, Turner retired from MMA after his last defeat in UFC 313, when finished by Ignatius Bahamondes. The decision generated many questions in the MMA community, but the athlete confirmed that he will hang up his gloves for good.
